- PHYSICAL PROPERTY INSPECTION
- Particle size allocation ratio: particle size is measured by mesh unit and based on particle size scope, particle size allocation ration is calculated by percentage unit
- Apparent density: Activated carbon is fulfilled on one volume unit
- Moisture: Mass reduction rate after drying one activated carbon at 115±50C for 3 hours
- Evaporation rate: Mass reduction rate after drying one sample, being covered with lid and burned at 9250C for 7 minutes, then cooling
- Ass rate: The rate between residual ass after full burning of one dry sample and initial sample
- Hardness: Physical hardness index of activated carbon
- pH: pH index of activated carbon
2. INSPECTION OF ADSORPTION OF ACTIVATED CARBON
- Iodine adsorption capacity: Mass of iodine is adsorbed over one mass unit of activated carbon
- De-Methylene blue: Volume of Methylen blue is removed over 1 gram of activated carbon
- Saturated adsorption capacity of benzene: Saturated adsorption capacity of benzene over1 gram of activated carbon expressed in percentage.
3. INSPECTION OF PORE STRUCTURES
- Specific surface area: Measuring specific inner surface area over 1 gram of activated carbon using N2 and BET method
- Volume and allocation of pores: There are two ways to determine volume and radius of pores: Isothermal adsorption and mercury porosimetry
- Vision by electronic telescope: widely used to view state and structure of surface of solid particles
- X-ray analysis: State of crystal structure can be studied and radius of pore can be determined by diffusion strength method
